Privacy Policy

KaoriQ ("we", "our") is operated by Propel-Lab LLC. This page explains what information we collect when you visit kaoriq.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We try to keep this short and concrete.
1. What we collect
We collect the following, and only the following:
- Aggregated visit data via Google Analytics 4 (page URL, referrer, country, device type, language, anonymized session info). GA4 sets cookies under
_gaand_ga_JQT8YQS2GL. - Pinterest Tag — anonymous page-view signals so we can understand which articles attract Pinterest readers. We do not pass any personal identifier or email to Pinterest. Cookies are set under
_pinterest_*and_pin_unauth. - Article-feedback signals — when you press the helpful / not-helpful button at the bottom of an article, we record an event in GA4 (the article slug, category, and the button you pressed). No personal identifier is sent.
- Theme preference — the dark / light toggle stores a value in your browser's
localStorage. It never leaves your device.
We do not run our own newsletter, account system, or order flow at this stage. We do not collect names, email addresses, or payment information from this site.
2. Why we collect it
- To understand which articles are useful and which aren't, so we can spend our time on the right topics.
- To measure how people arrive at the site (search, referrers, language).
- To debug issues such as broken pages or missing translations.
3. Third parties
We use:
- Google Analytics 4 — see Google's privacy policy.
- Pinterest — see Pinterest's privacy policy. Used to measure Pinterest-originated traffic.
- Google Fonts — fonts are loaded from
fonts.googleapis.com. - GitHub Pages — the site itself is hosted on GitHub Pages. Standard server logs apply.
4. Cookies and how to opt out
You can disable Google Analytics in your browser using the official GA opt-out add-on, or by blocking cookies from googletagmanager.com. To opt out of Pinterest's tracking, follow Pinterest's personalization controls or block cookies from pinimg.com and pinterest.com. Doing so will not break anything on the site.
5. Data retention and your rights
GA4 data is retained for the default Google retention window. Because we do not collect personally identifiable information, we cannot identify a specific user's visit data. If you have a concern that involves data you believe relates to you, please contact us at the address below.
6. Updates to this policy
We update this page when we add or remove data flows. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision.
